The Claremont Golf Course has a history of success and has been rated the top 9-hole golf course in the Portland area by the Northwest Golf Guys three times, in 2010, 2013 and 2015.
History of Claremont
In 1999 a group of residents formed the Claremont Golf Club, Inc., to keep the ownership of the Golf Course “in house”. The shares that were sold generated enough capital to purchase the Claremont Golf Course.
At the same time, the Claremont Men’s Golf Club and the Claremont Women’s Golf Club were formed with membership limited to those who owned shares in Claremont Golf Club Inc.
In the fall of 2012, the merger of Claremont Civic Association and Claremont Golf Club Inc. was approved by the Claremont residents. With the merger, the previous restriction of membership of the CGCI was erased, and membership of the Men’s or Women’s Golf Clubs is now open to all residents.
